Piers Blomfield
Barrister & Solicitor
BA. LLB. Dip Pol. GDLP. LLM. LLM
I am a former prosecutor who lived in Australia for nearly 30 years before returning to New Zealand. I have more than 25 years’ experience in criminal law and as a specialist family violence prosecutor. I have instructed in hundreds of trials and thousands of sentences over all possible criminal offences and family law issues.
I am able to take Family Protection Act estate litigation from anywhere in New Zealand by offering video calls through an online practice. I have postgraduate qualifications in family law and Wills and Estates.
I ran for 10 years a law firm in New South Wales before returning to Queenstown the place where I grew up. I have chambers in both Queenstown and Invercargill, and I can attend to all criminal law, family law, immigration and family protection matters in those areas. I still hold a practice certificate in New South Wales and can assist with work in Australia if required.
I have authority from the New Zealand Law Society to accept direct instructions without the need for a solicitor. You can read more about me at Mr Piers Dennis Blomfield - NZ Bar Association - Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture
